Job Title: Senior Property Accountant

Responsibilities:
- Complete month-end close and full accounting activities, including bank reconciliations.
- Maintain and create reconciliation schedules for all balance sheet accounts and prepare adjusting and/or reclassifying entries.
- Review general ledger transactions to confirm accuracy of postings.
- Collaborate with Asset Management in preparing financial reporting packages for lender compliance.
- Assist with the preparation and review of annual budget and quarterly reforecast.
- Assist in reviewing accounting processes and in the preparation of department procedures.
- Review rent rolls and confirm accuracy of abstracted financial information, lease dates and recoveries setup.
- Abstract new tenant leases as needed.
- Review and finalize CAM/RET/INS reconciliations for tenants.
- Scan and distribute payments remitted to the corporate office and confirm third-party management posting.
- Review accounts receivable aging and liaise with property management for follow up with tenants. Determine the need for bad debt allowance.
- Prepare monthly cash analysis to determine cash needs or excess cash that can be distributed.
- Compare these to the budget.
- Review prorations upon property acquisitions/dispositions.
- Follow up with CAM reconciliations, open receivables, payables, and post-closing prorations as they relate to property dispositions.
- Complete special projects and internal ad-hoc requests as required.
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or finance required+3 years of experience in Commercial / Industrial / Retail property accounting
- Experience with Yardi is required
- GAAP and financial accounting technical skills
- Savvy with technology and advanced proficiency with MS-Office products
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload effectively
- Detail and deadline oriented
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product
- Ability to work in a cooperative team spirit to actively contribute to the betterment of the company
